HOCK International has been providing CMA exam study assistance to candidates since 2003. HOCK has developed full CMA prep courses, which are highly regarded in the test-prep field. In fact, we’ve included HOCK in our list of the top CMA courses for 2023, particularly for candidates who are visual learners.

What is HOCK Stream?

Simply put, HOCK stream is a new pay-by-the-month CMA test supplement. HOCK combines CMA videos and one-on-one support in this subscription, making it one of the most well-liked parts of HOCK’s entire catalog of test-prep materials.

HOCK Stream Study Materials for CMA Exam Candidates

1. CMA tutorial videos from HOCK

The HOCK step-by-step videos and CMA short courses can all be viewed with your HOCK CMA stream membership, to start. And HOCK stream lets you watch the “CMA with Brian Hock” series, too. These succinct videos dive into the exam questions, making them excellent for CMA preparation. They also provide in-depth explanations of CMA exam subjects, so CMA novices might find these videos helpful.

2. Video tutorials for CMA essays and questions

Second, HOCK has also produced videos that show you how to respond to the CMA essays and multiple-choice questions. You want to maximize your potential to pass the CMA exam, so it’s good to have the HOCK instructors walk you through strategies for correctly answering the problems. Therefore, if you’re taking the CMA exam again after an exam failure, these videos will be a welcome addition to your study materials.

3. Direct assistance during live office hours

I was thrilled to discover that HOCK stream also has a live office hours component. Here’s how it works: during certain office hours twice weekly, HOCK’s CMA experts—all of whom are excellent instructors—actually “sit” in an online office. At this time, you are able to connect with them by videoconference and speak with them in person. Although it falls short of a private CMA exam tutor, it comes close because you can get help when needed.

4. Membership to social/academic networks from HOCK

You’ll get access to a members-only online social community when you register for HOCK stream. In fact, HOCK offers two social groups for candidates taking the CMA Parts 1 and 2, so you can find who is going through what you’re going through. It’s simple to connect with other CMA candidates on this network, which you can reach from the HOCK stream website. When you feel stuck, you can enlist the help of a study partner, respond to questions posed by other members, and rely on the community for support. It’s a great addition to this subscription.

What I Find Valuable from HOCK Stream

1. Knowledgeable CMA instructors

CMA videos can be really dry if you’ve ever attempted to study with one. I find it really difficult to learn from a boring video. So in my view, watching uninteresting videos while studying for the CMA exam is a waste of time.
The HOCK instructors try to keep the videos interesting, and that helps you learn better. I appreciate the CMA videos on HOCK stream for several reasons. First, you are taught the CMA topics by knowledgeable instructors in a classroom-style approach. More specifically, unlike some other CMA videos, you won’t have to suffer through dull PowerPoint presentations without any engagement from the instructor. The instructors often work out the CMA problems on the screen, making the content easier to understand.

Brian Hock himself actually hosts a lot of the HOCK videos! Since he has been a teacher for so long, Brian is skilled at dissecting challenging issues into manageable chunks. The other HOCK instructors are just as interesting, and I appreciate the extra work HOCK put into their library of videos.

Moreover, the HOCK videos are always captioned (CC). Because of this, if you enable CC while watching the videos, all of the concepts will be reinforced as you read and hear them simultaneously. In that case, the HOCK CMA videos will be helpful if you learn best visually or audibly.

And as a reminder, every single CMA video HOCK has ever produced is available to watch on HOCK stream.

2. Convenient to access on your mobile device

The HOCK stream service is functional on both computers and mobile devices. The HOCK developers have created apps for both iOS and Android devices, and I downloaded the app to my smartphone. I tested HOCK stream on my phone, and it was a success! As a result, it’s convenient to use the app and prepare for the CMA exam wherever and whenever you have any spare time.

3. Definitely take advantage of the free trial

And finally, you can join up for a free one-week trial of HOCK stream if you’re interested. Your name and email are all that is needed to start the trial. Even better, you can access every part of HOCK stream during your trial, so you can really test it out for yourself. If you’re studying for the CMA exam, I strongly recommended signing up for the trial.

My One Word of Advice about HOCK Stream

1. CMA videos, but not a comprehensive CMA study course

Notwithstanding all the extras, remember that the HOCK streaming service is best used as a CMA exam supplement. So, it isn’t a comprehensive review course. It does not, therefore, contain a ton of written study materials or a CMA textbook. Likewise, it doesn’t come with a test bank of questions or full-length sample CMA tests. As a result, it’s impossible to take a timed mock exam, which is a good study tip if you want to perform your best on exam day.

The HOCK stream membership, however, can be a really useful supplement to your CMA training. But using it in conjunction with one of the best CMA review programs could be a winning combination!
